Questions?Answers.
Will the camera lens protector affect photo quality?
No. The KaseMe Camera Lens Protector is designed specifically to provide protection without compromising image quality. The tempered glass is optically clear; no tint, no haze, no colour shift, so light reaches the lens exactly as it would without the protector in place. Clarity, sharpness, colour accuracy and dynamic range in your photos are all unaffected. Once it’s installed correctly, you won’t be able to tell from your photos that it’s there.
Does it interfere with night mode or flash?
No. Night mode works by keeping the shutter open longer to gather light, nothing about the lens protector changes the amount of light that reaches the sensor, so night shots are as bright and detailed as usual. The flash cutout is also accounted for in the protector’s design: the True Tone flash and LiDAR scanner (where applicable) remain fully unobstructed. Portraits, low-light scenes and flash photography all perform exactly as intended.
Do they affect autofocus?
No. Autofocus on the iPhone relies on sensors and on-lens detection that works independently of the lens surface. The protector sits on top of the glass without interfering with the camera’s focusing system. Phase detection, contrast detection and LiDAR-assisted focus all function normally with the protector applied. Your phone focuses just as quickly and accurately as before.
Do lens protectors protect against scratches and cracks?
Yes, on both counts. The tempered glass creates a hard barrier between the lens and everyday contact: keys in a pocket, rough surfaces, accidental drags against a desk or counter. It guards the lens glass from the micro-scratches that accumulate over time and eventually soften image sharpness. In the event of a more significant impact, a drop onto a hard corner, for example, the protector is designed to absorb the force and crack in place of the lens itself. If the protector cracks, it has done its job: replace it and your lens is intact.
What level of hardness do they have?
The KaseMe Camera Lens Protector is made from 9H-rated tempered glass, the highest hardness rating on the pencil hardness scale for glass products, and just below diamond. In practical terms, it resists scratching from virtually any everyday object: keys, screws, coins and similar sharp items will not scratch the surface under normal use. The same 9H rating we use for our screen protectors, applied to the part of your phone that most cases leave unprotected.
Are camera lens protectors easy to install?
Yes, with a clean surface and a careful alignment step. The most important part of the installation is making sure the camera module is completely free of dust and oils before you apply the protector: use a soft microfibre cloth and the included dust removal sticker to prepare the surface. Once the lens area is clean, align the protector over the lens array before committing and press down gently and evenly once it’s in position. Full instructions are included in the box.
Can I use them with any type of case?
Absolutely. The KaseMe Camera Lens Protector is ultra-thin and low-profile, designed to sit flush within the camera cutout of any phone case without creating gaps or height mismatches. It works with KaseMe Impact Cases, Clear Cases and Folio Cases, as well as cases from other brands. The protector adds no meaningful thickness to the camera module area, so fit and feel with your existing case is completely unchanged.
Are the lens protectors noticeable?
Minimal to invisible, depending on which colour you choose. The KaseMe Camera Lens Protector is available in silver and black so you can match it as closely as possible to your iPhone’s finish. Silver blends with natural titanium, stainless steel and lighter-coloured frames; black disappears against Space Black, Midnight and darker models. The glass itself is fully transparent, so the only element you might notice is the thin ring frame around the lens array, which most people mistake for the phone’s original camera design.
Can I remove it easily?
Yes, but carefully. To remove the lens protector, gently pry from one edge using your fingertip or a soft, non-sharp tool. Work slowly around the perimeter rather than forcing it from a single point. Be careful not to bend the protector sharply against the lens or let any hard tool contact the glass beneath. The protector is a single-use product: once removed, it cannot be reapplied. If you remove it, replace it with a new one to maintain lens protection.
